Mandu Mandu gorge walk

We have had quite a relaxing time during our stay at Yardie creek , but we haven’t been idle we have been busy catching up on the necessary chores that don’t get done when you are on the road constantly.

Gadget (DH) has done a fishing charter ( more about that later)

And we have explored the

National park on foot, boat and swimming.

Our first hike was to Mandu Mandu Gorge

Armed with solid shoes , a broad brimmed hat , camera and drone we set off

The Mandu Mandu gorge is a 3 km loop walk , it is considered a level 4 walk , generally it was a pretty easy walk , except for a couple of steep sections.

You can do the walk in either direction starting in the gorge walking along the dried up creek bed on the water polished stones, or you can walk along the rim and work your way down into the gorge.

We started in the gorge and worked our way up

The views from the rim were spectacular, you can see in the image above the walk through the Gorge.

And in the image above the proximity to the ocean and Ningaloo reef.

We were fortunate that towards the end of our walk we were able to spot two black footed rock wallabies, these wallabies are really hard to spot, as they literally blend into the rock colour,  and at times even harder to photograph.

It was a really good walk , probably made us both realise that we could definitely do some more exercise. But definitely do-able with moderate fitness

Until the next blog
