Three states in one day

We left Hay in NSW this morning, our last night in our home state ,continuing our journey west

We passed fields of Cotton in NSW, i ve always wanted to see a cotton field but always found it hard as they are usually surrounded by high irrigation channels , but today i was lucky to get a photo , albeit through the windscreen of the car.

We passed field after field of grapes in Victoria in the Sunraysia area.

And fields of oranges and other fruit trees in the Mildura area

Finally Reggie and Ruby crossed the South Australian border  and had to undergo an inspection to ensure that they were not carrying fruit and vegetables, protecting the South Australian area from fruit flies, Phylloxera (an aphid like pest that feeds on the roots of grape vines) and other pests.

We were well prepared and had discarded my apples before entering Victoria.

Finally we reach our rest spot

Besides the banks of the Murray River, Australia’s longest and deepest river.

Until the next blog

Wishing you happy and safe Travels
